UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper has called for the immediate opening of all crossing points into Gaza, warning that worsening weather conditions are deepening the humanitarian crisis and delaying the delivery of vital aid.
Cooper highlighted that shelter needs in Gaza are increasing rapidly due to harsh weather, noting that UK-funded tents have been delivered to families in need. However, she stressed that large quantities of humanitarian aid are still waiting to enter the region.
“Weather conditions in Gaza are continuing to deteriorate, and humanitarian assistance must reach people without delay,” Cooper said.
“All routes and crossing points must be opened immediately.”
Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, Cooper stated that the people of Gaza can no longer afford to wait, urging the international community to ensure unrestricted and immediate humanitarian access.
